SAVER, Pa. – Eleven drivers celebrated in victory lane during the 13th annual Steel City Stampede Saturday night at Lernerville Speedway.
Indiana native Zach Hampton enjoyed his first Lernerville experience as he led the field from green to checkers en route to the $3,000 payday in the Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Car feature.
Michael Norris took a page out of Hampton’s book and accomplished the same feat in the Precise Racing Products ULMS Late Model main event, surviving a multiple restarts before the checkers waved.
In Diehl Automotive BRP Modified Tour action, Chad Brachmann lost the lead early to Jeremiah Shingledecker early and got it back while never looking back, earning his third career buckle and also taking his second career BRP Modified Tour series championship in the process.
In the inaugural Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks Dow Carnahan Memorial, veteran pilot Bobby Whitling etched his name in the books as the first winner in race history.
Other winners Saturday included Kyle Hardy (RUSH Late Models), Chad Ruhlman (RUSH Sprint Cars), Garrett Krummert (RUSH Sportsman Modifieds), Ty Rhoades (E-Mod), Jim Morris (Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint Cars), Adam Pletcher (Blazczak Home Heating Mini Stocks) and Matt Feder (Enduro).
