YORK HAVEN, Pa. — BAPS Motor Speedway will host Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by Selinsgrove Ford for super late models on June 16 for the Creekside Auto Sales 21st annual York County Nationals.
Whether it’s Pennsylvania Speedweek, the World of Outlaws, or high-profile events for the Saturday night divisions, Scott Gobrecht and Kolten Gouse are always looking to expand the speedway’s footprint. The 2024 season will be no different at the York Haven, Pa., facility.
Extreme Stocks and a Women on Wheels 4-Cylinder race will also be on the June 16 program.
“We are happy to have the super late models back at BAPS Motor Speedway,” Gouse said. “Appalachian Speedweek has become a fixture in central Pennsylvania, and it’s important that BAPS Motor Speedway was able to get on the schedule.
“We are always working on being more diverse by bringing different divisions and events to the speedway. The super late models are popular with fans in the region, and we look forward to hosting this event.”
The super late model main event will pay $5,000 to the winner. It will be $500 to start.
PA Speedweek Announcement
In addition to the super late model news, BAPS Motor Speedway also announced that they’ve increased the first-place check during the Engler Machine and Tool PA Speedweek presented by Hoseheads.com to $10,000.
“Pennsylvania Speedweek has become one of the staples in this region,” Gouse said. “I think it’s important to continue to make this series better for drivers, teams, and fans who support it every year. This is our way of helping to add to Speedweek. This also gives us a chance to make a race on our schedule even bigger and increase the BAPS Motor Speedway brand.”
