LENEXA, Kan. – Steve Matusek will have sponsorship support from Thermo-Tec when he makes his NHRA Pro Stock debut during the Western Swing.
Matusek’s first Pro Stock race will take place next weekend at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo., and the growing buzz surrounding his debut made it an easy decision for Thermo-Tec to jump on board.
“It’s very exciting for us and honestly it was a no-brainer,” Thermo-Tec Director of Sales and Marketing Brian Prior said. “I’ve known Steve a long time, it’s his first foray into Pro Stock and he’s doing it with a great car, so it’s all very exciting and we’re glad to be a part of it. Elite Motorsports is a top team, Steve and Aeromotive make the top fuel systems in the industry, and we believe at Thermo-Tec we’re the top company when it comes to heat and sound insulation technology. It was absolutely a no-brainer.”
Based in Greenwich, Ohio, Thermo-Tec has established itself as one of the industry’s top providers of high-quality heat and sound insulation products for high-performance vehicles for more than three decades.
Thermo-Tec has prided itself on innovative, outside-the-box thinking when it comes to their line of exhaust insulating and heat protection technology. Now they’ve partnered with Matusek and Elite Motorsports on his new endeavor into Pro Stock.
“We’ve always been a forward-thinking company and that’s been obvious with Thermo-Tec’s approach as well, so it really made sense to work together on this new opportunity in Pro Stock,” said Matusek, the president of Aeromotive. “I’m really excited to have a company of their caliber on this new journey. It’s going to be a challenge racing in this class, which makes it critical to have great partners on board. We have that with Thermo-Tec and I can’t wait to get to Denver and see what we can do on Thunder Mountain.”
Thermo-Tec’s forward-thinking approach to its fully-tested product line is equally appealing to Matusek, who is celebrating Aeromotive’s 25th anniversary in 2019. Meanwhile, Prior and Thermo-Tec believe Matusek joining a Pro Stock operation as successful as Elite Motorsports makes this partnership even more enticing.
“We’re excited to see him behind the wheel,” Prior said. “The talent and the equipment is there, and it’s a Mustang, so it’s going to be a great opportunity for Steve and it’s really exciting for us. With what Elite is doing in Pro Stock, there’s tremendously talented people working for (team owner) Richard (Freeman), and we have great people here. It’s big for us to be involved, it’s big for Steve and it’s all just a perfect match.”
