LUSAIL, Qatar – Jonathan Rea continued his dominant World Superbike season on Friday by delivering his 15th victory of the season at the Losail Int’l Circuit.
The victory also allowed Kawasaki to clinch its fifth-straight Manufacturers’ Championship.
Rea took the lead at the start of the race and led all the way to the checkered flag. He rocketed away from the field with the holeshot from the pole as the field battled behind him for second.
Starting 12th, Ducati’s Chaz Davies raced his way through the pack to end up second, two seconds behind Rea at the checkered flag. Alex Lowes finished third for Yamaha, giving British riders a sweep of the podium.
Bautista came from seventh to finish fourth, while Leon Haslam completed the top-five on the second Kawasaki bike.
Michael van der Mark, Loris Baz, Markus Reiterberger, Eugene Laverty and Leon Camier completed the top-10 riders at the checkered flag.
