DARLINGTON, S.C. – Past NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series champion Brett Moffitt will start from the pole in Sunday’s South Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Darlington Raceway.
The lineup was determined by NASCAR’s weighted metric average formula. Moffitt finished second at World Wide Technology Raceway and ranked third in fastest lap and in points.
Moffitt’s GMS Racing teammate, Sheldon Creed, will share the front row with him on Sunday. Austin Hill, Zane Smith and Ben Rhodes start third through fifth, respectively.
Raphael Lessard, Grant Enfinger, Stewart Friesen, Tyler Ankrum and Matt Crafton fill out the front five rows of the grid.
Notables deeper in the field include Christian Eckes, who starts 17th after a mechanical failure at Gateway; Greg Biffle, starting 20th in a fifth GMS Racing entry and returning to the Truck Series for the first time since last June; and Johnny Sauter, who rolls off 23rd and is in a virtual must-win situation in order to make the Truck Series playoffs this season.
The complete starting lineup can be viewed here.
Sunday’s South Carolina Education Lottery 200, the first Truck Series race at Darlington since 2011, takes the green flag at 2 p.m. ET Sunday with live coverage on FS1, the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
