As SPEED SPORT celebrates its 85th anniversary, I realized I am celebrating an anniversary of my own.
SPEED SPORT means different things to different people.  Reading the columns in the 85th Anniversary issue, there is no denying it has fed people’s passion for motorsports for the past 85 years. 
The question we’ve fielded most often over our years with SPEED SPORT is “How did you get to be a writer with them?”  
Since 1934, SPEED SPORT has been covering motorsports all over the world. As we celebrate our 85th Anniversary, we decided to take a look back at some important moments in SPEED SPORT history.

The popularity of auto racing at county fairs on the East Coast during the early 1930s served as the catalyst from which the SPEED SPORT brand was born 85 years ago.
