Wisconsin Drivers Top Milwaukee Mile Practice

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – The Milwaukee Mile pits were packed Saturday afternoon for an open practice day, leading up to the Father’s Day return to racing for the one-mile oval.

More than 120 competitors were on track, fine tuning their machines.

In all, five different classes of race vehicles were on track, including the headline division, the ARCA Midwest Tour. That series will be competing in a 100-lap event on Sunday afternoon, with more than 40 cars on the entry list.

Wisconsin’s own Luke Fenhaus and Ty Majeski were atop the board in overall speeds.

Fenhaus turned the fastest lap of the day – 28.546 seconds – during final practice, while Majeski led three sessions on the afternoon.

The Mid-American Stock Cars, Upper Midwest Vintage Series, Midwest Trucks, and the Vintage Indy Registry were also on track, getting ready for Sunday’s action.

Sunday’s event at the track will mark the return to racing after a five year hiatus for the Wisconsin State Fair Park facility.

The event is being promoted by Track Enterprises, based in Macon, Ill.
