WEST SALEM, Wis. — Full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series racer Ty Majeski came home the overall winner of the “Trickle 99” super late model event on day two of the 53rd annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway on a clear and chilly Friday night.
Run in three 33-lap segments, the event saw Majeski, from Seymour, Wis., and his Camry No. 91 turn in fourth, second and third place finishes in the segmented races, which were won by Dan Fredrickson, Dalton Zehr and Gabe Sommers.
Fredrickson bested Johnny Sauter, Andrew Morrissey, Majeski and Casey Johnson in the opener. Zehr finished ahead of Majeski, Colin Reffner, Frederickson and Johnson in round two.
The final 33-lap segment saw Sommers beat Johnson, Majeski, Fredrickson and Jeff Storm.
Majeski finished ahead of Frederickson, Johnson, Sommers, Morrissey and Zehr in the final “Trickle 99” standings.
Earlier in the day, Fredrickson set fast time among 47 super late models that timed in at the five-eighths-mile paved oval.
Billy Mohn was the winner of the 25-lap “Stubby” feature race for cars and drivers that did not qualify for the Trickle event. Mohn had a 0.281-second margin over Justin Mondeik at the checkered flag. Brock Heinrich, Tristan Swanson, Mark Eswein and Cole Butcher trailed the top duo.
Shaun Scheel won the “C” super late model feature ahead of Travis Volm and Jordan Thiel.
Dillon Sellner captured the 25-lap feature race for area sportsman competitors. Devin Schmidt, Ron Vandermeir Jr., Chris Weber and Eric Campbell chased Sellner to the checkered flag. Earlier, the Minnesota driver set a track record during time trials.
Nick Clements, Dan Fredrickson and Jacob Goede with two wins were feature winners in LaCrosse late model action. Mike Carlson was named the LaCrosse late model champion.
