BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series has announced its schedule of events for the 2014 season.
A quick look at the schedule shows the series visiting the marquee short tracks of the southwest.
“In 2014, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will be competing at the best racetracks in our region,” stated the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series’ Larry Collins. “We’ll return to the one-mile oval at Pikes Peak Int’l Raceway, the half-miles of Irwindale Speedway and Kern County Raceway, the three-eighths mile ovals of The Bullring and Rocky Mountain Raceways, and the third-mile Madera Speedway. 2014 is the best schedule the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series has ever seen in its 14 year history.”
The series is set to return to Madera Speedway on March 15 and June 28, compete at Kern County Raceway on April 5 and Nov. 1, Rocky Mountain Raceway on Memorial Day Monday, May 26. The series will return once again to Irwindale Speedway on Aug. 16, Pikes Peak Int’l Raceway on Sept. 28, and The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 3 and Nov. 22 for the championship finale.
“We have to thank our host racetracks for welcoming the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series back year after year. We’ve established valued partnerships with the promoters and greatly appreciate their efforts in building marquee events around our races.” Collins added.
Nine dates are solidified for 2014, with one, and possibly two additional dates to be announced after the holidays.
“We’ve stuck with our ten race schedule over the past few years, because that’s what our teams have requested. A couple of our promoters got a late start scheduling for 2014, so we plan to announce the tenth race within the next few weeks, and might take the schedule to eleven dates for the upcoming season. The series is thriving, and we have to thank Spears Manufacturing, our race teams and all of our sponsors that choose to market their products through the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series.”
