Return Of Racing To Rockingham Shifted To Nov. 6

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – The return of racing to North Carolina’s Rockingham Speedway will now take place on Nov. 6.

This is the second time the event, which is scheduled to feature a 75-lap CARS Late Model Stock Tour race, at Rockingham Speedway has been rescheduled. It was originally scheduled March 6, but following tire testing in December of last year track and series officials decided to reschedule the event for Oct. 30 to allow for more time to decide upon a new tire compound.

The newest postponement comes after series officials conducted another tire test on May 13, where series officials confirmed the tire compound with Hoosier Tire for the event.

CARS Tour officials also confirmed open testing dates at Rockingham Speedway in advance of the Nov. 6 race date. Open testing is scheduled for Sept. 18, Oct. 30 and Nov. 5.

The CARS Late Model Stock Tour event is scheduled to be the first race of any kind held on the Rockingham Speedway oval since a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the track on April 13, 2013.
