BARRE, Vt. – More than 30 American-Canadian Tour late-model teams took advantage of a Late Model only practice session at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Friday.
Competitors dodged the rain drops to get in valuable laps in preparation for Saturday’s Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Qualifying day for the 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday.
Cris Michaud, the 2004 Milk Bowl Champion, set the fast time of the day with a 13.093. Also near the top of the speed charts were current ACT point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Austin Theriault, Stacy Cahoon and two-time Milk Bowl Champion Phil Scott.
More than 60 Late Model teams are expected to be on hand for tomorrow’s (Saturday, September 29) Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Qualifying day. Qualifying for the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and Allen Lumber Street Stocks is set to roll out at 1:00pm followed by Late Model time trials at 1:30pm to set the pole and outside pole positions of the 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl.
The remainder of the Milk Bowl field will be set by Triple 50 qualifiers.
