OREGON, Wis. — Twenty-eight drivers have filed entries for Friday night’s Howie Lettow Classic 100 for the ARCA Midwest Tour at Madison Int’l Speedway.
The entry list is highlighted by four-time series champion Ty Majeski and NASCAR Cup Series winner William Byron.
The 100-lap event, which pays $5,000 to win at the familiar half-mile asphalt oval will also be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT Network affiliate, midwesttour.tv.
The Midwest Truck Series and 602 Outlaw Late Models will join the racing program which will conclude with a fireworks display.
Howie Lettow died in 2010 at the age of 62 after battling cancer. He was a highly respected crew chief who led eight different drivers to rookie-of-the-year honors in the American Speed Ass’n. Best known of that group is seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson. Other drivers were Scott Hansen, Ken Lund, David Stremme, Ted Musgrave, Steve Holzhausen, Steve Carlson and Ricky Johnson.
Lettow won an ASA championship in 1996 as crew chief for Tony Raines.
Majeski, who has won four ARCA Midwest features this season, including the most recent event at Iowa’s Hawkeye Downs Speedway, will drive his familiar No. 91 Ford late model.
Byron, who will participate in Friday’s event before heading to Daytona Int’l Speedway for Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series regular season finale, will guide a Chevrolet carrying his familiar No. 24.
Other drivers of note on the entry list include Luke Fenhaus, Casey Johnson, Paul Shafer Jr., Andrew Morrissey, Rich Bickle Jr., Dan Fredrickson, Jacob Goede, Jonathan Eilen, Dalton Zehr and Skylar Holzhausen.
