Kyle Larson will make his first CARS Tour start on Wednesday, June 28, at Caraway Speedway.
The full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver announced the news via Twitter on Friday afternoon. He will be driving the No. 5 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, sponsored by HendrickCars.com, at the Asheboro, N.C., short track.
His teammate for the race will be last year’s CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil. Meanwhile, Josh Berry, who will join Larson in the Cup Series in 2024, will act as his crew chief at Caraway.
“Looking forward to the CARS Tour at Caraway next week,” Larson wrote. “Thanks for the opportunity, Dale Jr.”
The 30-year-old will add the late model stock car race to his already extensive motorsports résumé, which includes sprint cars, midgets and dirt late models, among other forms of racing.
