IRWINDALE, Calif. — It was worth the wait for Jacob Gomes.
The All-Star Showdown super late model race was delayed nearly three months, but Gomes was still up to the task on Saturday night, winning the event for the second consecutive year.
The SPEARS Southwest Tour champion earned $15,000 for winning the 125-lap main event on the half-mile track.
Kole Raz finished second, with Buddy Shepherd, Sean Hingorani and Dylan Zampa completing the top five.
Trevor Huddleston won the 75-lap pro late model feature.
