SALEM, Ind. – NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones will compete with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS in the July 30 Circle City 100 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
That event is part of a huge weekend of racing at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park that will see the return of the Camping World NASCAR Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series on Friday, July 29.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series will headline Saturday, July 30’s racing action that will also include the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in a 100-lap Cowboy, Come Canning & Distillery Four Crown Mini-Series event and the Vore’s Compact Tour Series.
Jones was the 2011 inaugural JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion. Jones then started racing Super Late Models to further his career including winning the 2012 and 2013 Snowball Derby.
From there Jones ascended quickly to the ARCA Menards Series and then the Camping World NASCAR Truck Series racing for Kyle Busch.
Jones still competed in a Super Late Model when he had a chance including winning three straight Winchester 400’s from 2013 through 2015. The 2015 win also won Jones the JEGS CRA Triple Crown and a $100,000 bonus for wins in the Battle of Berlin 251, the Redbud 400 and the third win in the Winchester 400 that 2015 season.
Jones, who currently competes in the NASCAR Cup Series for Petty GMS Motorsports, has won 18 races across NASCAR’s top-three national touring series including two NASCAR Cup Series wins, nine NASCAR Xfinity Series wins and seven NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins.
Jones won seven ARCA/CRA Super Series events from 2013 through the 2016 seasons, including a win in the Circle City 100 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 22, 2016. The Circle City 100 is one of six Super Late Model events that Jones will compete in this season.
