MARNE, Mich. – ARCA/CRA Super Series officials have released the entry forms for the possible $15,000 to win fourth annual Rowdy 251 that will be contested at Berlin Raceway June 19th.
NASCAR Star Kyle “Rowdy” Busch looks to defend his 2010 and 2011 wins in the event, that was first named the Rowdy’s Revenge 251 after Busch failed to win the inaugural race in 2009, which was won by Berlin veteran Brian Campbell. Busch finished a disappointing fifth in that 2009 event.
The event name was changed to the Rowdy 251 for last season’s race.
Two time ARCA/CRA Super Series champion Johnny VanDoorn and Busch were locked in an epic battle for the right to lift the trophy in last year’s Rowdy 251 until the 246th lap.
The race lead changed hands eight times between VanDoorn and Busch before Busch prevailed taking the lead on lap 246 when VanDoorn had a right front tire go down as Busch was passing for the lead. Busch went on to get his second straight victory in the event over Johnny Benson, Tom DeVos, Jordan Dahlke and Chase Elliott, son of NASCAR great Bill Elliott.
Elliott and Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Matt Kenseth, are just two of the early commitments to race in the Fourth Annual Rowdy 251 along with several top ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour racers along with the best racers from the Berlin Raceway Coors Light Super Late Model Division.
The event is an ARCA/CRA Super Series National Points event that will count towards crowning the second CRA National Super Late Model Champion.
As it was in 2010 and 2011, the order of entries received at the CRA office will be the qualifying order for the event from last to first, the first competitor to enter will be the last qualifier, while the last competitor to enter will be the first qualifier.
