MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the start of the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour season, two drivers are on a record-setting pace thanks to the Rowdy Manufacturing Super Late Model Challenge.
Championship contenders Matt Craig and Bubba Pollard have won the first two CARS Super Late Model Tour events. Both drivers are eligible for the Rowdy Manufacturing Super Late Model Challenge, which offers a $5,000 cash bonus to the winner of select Super Late Model races on the schedule.
The pair will now travel north to the Jennerstown Speedway Complex in Jennerstown, Pa., for the $20,000-to-win Thomas Automotive American Freedom 300 on July 4. Through the first two super late model races in the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour, Craig and Pollard have earned nearly 20 percent of their total career earnings in CARS Tour competition.
In 2019, Craig won more than $20,000 en route to the CARS Super Late Model Tour championship. Pollard also earned over $20,000 last season in four super late model starts.
Craig and Pollard will battle with the best of the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour and the ARCA/CRA Super Series at Jennerstown in the Thomas Automotive American Freedom 300. The best super late model drivers from the Carolinas will compete with the premier super late model series in the Midwest during 200 laps to determine who will have the biggest Independence Day celebration at the half-mile track.
Tickets for the inaugural Thomas Automotive American Freedom 300 are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. Kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.carsracingtour.com.
Fans unable to attend the event will be able to view it live via SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Pit Row TV.
