Carson Lucas Set For Full CRA Jr. Late Model Season

SALEM, Ind. – Carson Lucas Racing will once again compete with the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models this year with 12-year-old Carson Lucas chasing the series championship and top rookie honors.

The Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Model Series features 10 to 15-year-old drivers competing amongst themselves for both experience and recognition in full size late models with an economical drive train and suspension alternatives.

Lucas has been racing dirt oval karts since the age of four. He has competed on a local, regional and national level; competing in two karting series (NKA and AKRA) and two tire series (Burris and Maxxis) across the Midwest and Southeast. His career stats have him with more than 60 wins and four championships.

In 2019, Lucas brought home a Midwest Championship with 10 poles, eight feature wins, 26 top five finishes and nine additional top 10 finishes, at 18 different tracks against the best Junior Kart drivers and teams in the country.

Lucas only competed in a limited number of events with the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the limited races in a late model last season, the team earned a top-five finish at Anderson Speedway.

The team is looking to build on that seat time along with the time the team spent practicing locally at Ona Speedway in West Virginia throughout 2020. Lucas has been putting in the work in the sim rig during the offseason and building on the real-world experiences from last season.

Carson Lucas Racing will feature a new corporate sponsor this year with Truck Hero, located in Ann Arbor, Mich., as the team’s primary sponsor during the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Model Series season.

“I’m super excited to have Truck Hero with us and get back in the seat of the late model,” said Lucas. “I really enjoy the feel of the big car and relating that to my team. That has been a big part of my focus over the off season, understanding what I can do to help my team make the best call on what the car needs.”
