Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial 128 Finds New Home At Freedom Factory

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Eighth Annual Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial 128 will take place later this year at Bradenton, Florida’s Freedom Factory, the SRL National Super Late Model Tour and Bigley Family announced Monday evening.

The race is set for Thanksgiving weekend, with practice and a pit party on Friday, November 24, and race day on Saturday, November 25.

“We couldn’t be prouder to work with the Bigley Family to help put on this event to honor Bill Sr.”, stated the SRL’s Ricky Brooks. “We hosted an SRL Sportsman race at the Freedom Factory earlier this year, and it’s going to be a great place to bring the Bigley Memorial.”

The SRL National Super Late Model Tour had planned to end its season at Citrus County Speedway, a management change at Citrus County opened the door to move the final event to the Freedom Factory.

“We had planned to be at Citrus to end our season on September 30, but the new management there changed our plan, so obviously we’re very happy to have our final event of the year be the Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial,” Brooks added.

Stock car racing was Bigley Sr.’s passion. There was nothing he loved more than being at a track with his son and grandsons. As a prior track owner and racer, he truly cared about each and every racer and crew member he came across. He was the first one to pitch in, help, provide parts and knowledge.

“We are excited to have the tradition carry on at the Freedom Factory”, stated Billy Bigley Jr. “This will be the eighth year for the Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial, all where it started 8 years ago, this year it will be sanctioned with SRL National Super Late Model Tour, with Ricky Brooks and his staff running the show, hope to see everyone there.”
