SALEM, Ind. – Champion Racing Ass’n powered by JEGS and Berlin Raceway officials announced Thursday that the Battle at Berlin 251 on Aug. 17 will include both pro and super late models in the same event.

For the first time in CRA history, the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance will compete on the samme track at the same time for points.

The event will also be a Berlin Raceway super late model points event.

“We are really excited to be the first track to feature this type of an event with CRA,” said Mike Bursley with Berlin Raceway. “We talked about doing something different for the Battle at Berlin 251 in 2019, and this was one of the ideas we felt would work to help bring that race back to one of the major late model events in the country.

“By bringing both of the top CRA series, our super late models and some of the top late model drivers from around the country, the 251 is going to be a great race for the fans to come out and watch.”

“In this day and age with asphalt racing, sometimes you just have to think out of the box to make an event successful,” added CRA Managing Partner R.J. Scott. “We are excited to be a part of this great event at Berlin Raceway and to make it part of CRA history. This scenario wouldn’t work at a lot of tracks, but it will at Berlin Raceway, where crate motors are just as competitive as the bigger super late model engines.”

The announcement adds another points event to the ARCA/CRA Super Series schedule. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points event originally scheduled at Berlin Raceway on Aug. 10 is now rescheduled for Aug. 17.

The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event originally scheduled for Aug. 24 at Owosso Speedway has now been tentatively moved to Aug. 10, making the Battle at Berlin 251 the first race in the Chase for the Championship for both divisions.

The race will be 251 laps, with controlled cautions and a 10-tire option. It will pay $20,000 to win and $1,200 to start, with a minimum 34-car starting field.

The event will feature bonus money for the top-finishing JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour cars.
