MACON, Ill. — ASA STARS National Tour officials have issued penalties to Stephen Nasse and Gio Ruggiero following their involvement in a post-race altercation following Sunday’s Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway.
The incident took place on the frontstretch following the conclusion of the event that was won by Ruggiero.
Ruggiero was fined $3,000 and the loss of 25 championship owner and driver points and was placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Nasse, who finished third on Sunday and is a two-time winner of the event, was also placed on probation for the remainder of the calendar year, was fined $4,500 and 44 championship and owner points.
In addition, four individuals connected with the No.51 team have been suspended for the remainder of the ASA STARS National Tour season and have been placed on probation for the first three races of the 2024 season.
