FOUNTAIN, Colo. — The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series late models will contest the Spears Manufacturing Colorado 100 Sept. 29 at Pikes Peak Int’l Raceway.
It will be the richest event in series history.
The overall prize money for the event will exceed $75,000 with the winner receiving $10,000.
“This is a marquee event for our series, our sponsor Spears Manufacturing and the Colorado Springs community,” stated the SRL’s Larry Collins. “We have brought together the biggest pay off in series history to reward the teams for their efforts, $10,000 to win, with a minimum of $1,000 to start. The top 20 in SPEARS Southwest Tour Series points entering the event will be on a bonus program to receive a minimum of $2,500 to start the Colorado race.”
The last time the “Tour Cars” competed at PPIR was July 23, 2005. Two-time
SPEARS Southwest Tour Series champion Jim Pettit II won the 150-lap event on the one-mile oval.
