WEST SALEM, Wis. — Rookie Tyler Bauknecht added another feather to his cap Saturday at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway by winning the Mid-American Stock Car Series late-model portion of Oktoberfest at the .545-mile asphalt oval.
Starting on the front row, Bauknecht grabbed the lead at the start and never looked back as Max Schultz and Bret Widdis battled for second behind him. He led the rest of way during the 40-lap feature.
Mike Lichtfeld was second ahead of James Swan, Adam Bendzick and Bobby Gutknecht. Lyle Nowak finished 12th and clinched the series championship.
