Pit Party Kicks Off Snowball Derby In Style

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Green Flag Pit Party held on the frontstretch of Five Flags Speedway will serve as the official kick-off for the 47th Annual Snowball Derby. The popular pit party will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 5-9 p.m. and will give fans the opportunity to rub elbows with their favorite drivers before they rub fenders on the race track.
“The Green Flag Pit Party is a very fun time,” said Five Flags Speedway and Snowball Derby promoter Tim Bryant. “It’s the night before we get down to serious business, so it’s the final opportunity for people to let their hair down and have a really good time. It’s a chance for the fans to come out at no charge and mingle among the drivers and get a feel for who is here and what’s happening.”
Taking place at the same time is the Jack Links Qualifying Draw, where every driver entered in the “Granddaddy of All Short Track Races” draws their position for qualifying on NASH 102.7 Pole Night.
“On Wednesday night every driver that files an entry gets introduced, comes up on stage, pulls a Jack Links Beef Jerky package off the board and their qualifying order number is on the back,” said Bryant. “When qualifying rolls around on Friday night the order in which they qualify is of vital importance, at least in the driver’s heads anyway.”
The Jack Links Qualifying Draw will be hosted by Speed51.com owner and NASCAR broadcaster Bob Dillner.
There will be food, live music and the ability for fans to get autographs from all of their favorite drivers. The entire night of fun can be experienced by fans free of charge.
“The fans love it,” said Bryant. “We’ve gotten great feedback on it. It’s something that we’ve really grown to look forward to.”
