DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Norway (Mich.) Speedway’s Dalton Zehr sits atop the 2013 ASA Member Track National Championship points battle for the third consecutive week, but the top five now has two new names.

Mark Mackesy, who was in the top five after the first week’s standings, dropped out last week only to jump back in this week and wrestle second place from Lonesome Pine Raceway’s Ryan Stiltner. Also joining the top five this week is Meridian (Idaho) Speedway’s Shelby Stroebel, the 2012 ASA Member Track National Champion.

Due to a spring and summer that caused significant weather issues for many track operators, these standings are still considered early in the season and it is anticipated that significant change will be seen in the coming weeks.

Running the Late Model division at the third-mile asphalt oval Norway Speedway, Zehr has led the 2013 ASA National Championship standings since they debuted three weeks ago and currently sports a 2.7635 average.

Mackesy jumped over fellow track competitor Ryan Hinner at State Park Speedway, the quarter-mile asphalt oval just outside Wausau, Wis., and currently has a 2.0362 average running the Super Late Models.

After sitting in second after the first two weeks of the National Championship standings, Lonesome Pine Raceway’s Stiltner falls one spot to third. He runs the Limited Late Models at the three-eighths-mile asphalt oval in Coeburn, Va., and currently has a 1.8808 average.

A new face to this year’s standings but a familiar one to the ASA National Championship in recent years is Meridian Speedway’s Stroebel who surpassed fellow track competitor Jentry Pisca. Stroebel ran a perfect season last year in the Modifieds division en route to the national title at the quarter-mile asphalt oval and currently sits fourth in the national standings with a 1.1919 average.

Taylor Coffman of the four-tenths-mile asphalt oval Newport (Tenn.) Speedway remains fifth overall as he leads the track’s Late Model Sportsman division and has a 0.6562 average in the ASA Member Track National Championship standings.
