JEFFERSON, Ga. — Rained out on July 4, the Slack Auto Parts World Crown 300 presented by Peach State Freightliner and Ford Power Stroke Diesel has been rescheduled for Aug. 10 at Gresham Motorsports Park.
With most race teams having already planned out their schedules for the season, GMP officials have elected to reschedule the race for Aug. 10 when there was already a Southern Super Series late model race scheduled at the facility.
“All of us at GMP are very sorry that Mother Nature did not cooperate for the 30th running of the World Crown on the 4th of July,” said Jim Gresham, owner of GMP. “I would like to personally thank Dan (Elliott) and all the rest of the GMP crew for all their hard work preparing for this event only to have it washed out. The GMP crew would also like to thank all of our sponsors, racers and fans for working with us to make this new date of August 10th what we feel will be some great racing and fun for all.”
The purses, format of the race and the number of laps will remain the same as those intended for the July 4th World Crown 300.
Outlaw Late Models, Trucks, Sportsman, Renegades and Mini Stocks are also scheduled to be part of the racing card.
