DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Two more drivers etched their names into the list of eligible drivers for the 2012 ASA Member Track National Championship.
Michael Hale and Dennis Queen each captured their respective track championships this past weekend and join Lance Gatlin and Mark Eswein in chasing down Shelby Stroebel for the national title.
Hale defended his Maverik Modified championship this past weekend at Rocky Mountain Raceways, an ASA Member Track in West Valley City, Utah. Hale finished second last Saturday night to secure his second straight title. Roger Wilson was 224 points behind in second place with Mark Ith Jr. finishing third, only 239 points behind the champion.
Dennis Queen won a feature and finished second in the second to secure the Late Model Sportsman championship at Newport Motor Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Newport, Tenn., last Saturday night. He held off Wayne Webb and Taylor Coffman for the track title.
Currently, there are five drivers officially eligible to go for the ASA Member Track National Championship as they achieved the goal of winning their track title first.
Three more drivers could join the list after this weekend.
