Ragan Captures Snowball Derby Pole

PENSACOLA, Fla. — NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular David Ragan has won the pole for the 45th annual Snowball Derby late model race at Five Flags Speedway.

Ragan turned a lap of 16.485 seconds of the half-mile asphalt oval, taking the top qualifying position for Sunday’s event. Ragan had also been fastest in both practice sessions.

John Hunter Nemechek, son of Joe Nemechek, was the second quick qualifier with a lap of 16.524 seconds.

T.J. Reaid and his car owner Kyle Busch will share row three in a pair of Kyle Busch Motorsports entries.

Defending race winner Chase Elliott was fifth quick.
