CONCORD, N.C. — CARS Pro Cup Series Director Jack McNelly finalized the details of a season-ending point fund for teams for the 2012 season.
The money for the point fund is being provided through ticket sales, with 15 percent of all ticket sales revenue from the 14 Pro Cup events on the 2012 schedule will be earmarked to the point fund.
The series champion will receive 20 percent of the total points fund. Teams finishing second through twelve will also receive a payout from the point fund on a declining percentage scale.
“Increasing ticket sales and establishing a points fund for our teams are two of our major goals this season,” McNelly said. “Using ticket revenue to create the point fund gives everyone in the series added incentive to sell tickets and bring bigger crowds to Pro Cup events.”BREAKING NEWS: SPEED SPORT is back in print with a new monthly format!
