CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Pit Pay, a mobile pit pass app for the motorsports industry, has posted a $5,000 bonus challenge for Five Flags Speedway’s 53rd annual Snowball Derby.
If the Snowball Derby polesitter goes on to win the 300-lap main event and used Pit Pay to buy pit passes for the driver and team, the pole-winning Derby champion would earn an additional $5,000 bonus.
The Snowball Derby, one of the most prestigious events in super late model racing, is an annual 300-lap race held at the historic Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla. The Snowball Derby, which began in 1968, regularly attracts some of the biggest names in short track racing to the half-mile, banked asphalt oval. The 2020 Snowball Derby will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, with qualifying scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4.
Pit passes for the Snowball Derby are on sale now in the Pit Pay app.
“The Snowball Derby is one of the highlights on the short track calendar and we’re excited to support it,” said Frank Bolter, founder and owner of Pit Pay. “Five Flags Speedway is a great facility. We’re ready to hand out some extra bonus money to the Derby polesitter if they used Pit Pay and go win the premier event. We take pride in supporting support short track racing and our track and series partners.”
Pit Pay will pay the bonus directly to the race-winning polesitter as long as he or she used the Pit Pay app for driver and team pit passes.
“Pit Pay has been a fantastic partner of ours this year,” said Tim Bryant, promoter of Five Flags Speedway, the home of the Snowball Derby. “Their technology has streamlined the check-in process, made it easy for us to sell pit passes in advance and it’s the way of the future. This $5,000 Pit Pay bonus challenge will add another level of excitement for the Snowball Derby polesitter.”
