ROSSBURG, Ohio — Tony Stewart never put a wheel wrong en route to winning a crash-strewn Superstar Racing Experience event at Stewart’s Eldora Speedway on Thursday night.
Stewart was the fastest car throughout both heat races and the main event, rarely having to look into his rearview mirror on his way to the first evening sweep in the series’ three-year history.
Stewart started the feature on the pole and led all 75 laps despite several restarts following multi-car accidents. Upon crossing the finish line, the Eldora Speedway track owner climbed the catch fence to wave the checkered flag at the crowd.
Hailie Deegan worked her way forward to finish second on the half-mile dirt track, while series point leader Ryan Newman came home third. Newman has now extended his lead to 39 points over Stewart in the series standings, with only one race left in the season.
Bobby Labonte and Matt Kenseth completed the top five.
