JENNERSTOWN, Pa. – Some of the nation’s top super late model competitors will invade Jennerstown Speedway this Saturday night for the fourth annual Motor Mountain Masters.
The 150-lap event offers a $10,000 winner’s share in addition to the traditional crimson jacket that goes to the winner of the event, which will be broadcast live via SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Pit Row TV for FREE beginning Saturday at 6 p.m. EST.
The entry list features a strong contingent of competitors from across the nation who will be looking to take home the $10,000 top prize. They’re headlined by New Hampshire’s Derek Griffith, the defending two-time super late model champion of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway.
Also entered is Mike Hopkins, the defending winner of the Motor Mountain Masters. The Maine resident finished second during the 2019 edition of the race before kicking down the door to victory lane last year. He’ll attempt to become the first two-time winner of the race this Saturday.
Hopkins is joined on the entry list by local driver Barry Awtey, who won the inaugural running of the Motor Mountain Masters in 2018. The resident of Jenners, Pa., will look to improve upon his 25th-place finish last season.
Another marquee name on the entry list is five-time USAC Silver Crown Series champion Kody Swanson, who has been spending more time this season racing asphalt late models for Team Platinum. He captured the pro late model championship this season during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.
Gary St. Amant, a two-time American Speed Ass’n champion as well a winner of the Snowball Derby, All American 400 and Winchester 400, is also entered in the hopes of adding the Motor Mountain Masters to his list of marquee victories.
Jeremy Mayfield, a five-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner, is also entered in Saturday’s Motor Mountain Masters. He’s scheduled to drive an entry fielded by Mark Smith Racing during the 150-lap event.
Also on the entry list are two-time ARCA/CRA Super Series champion Josh Brock, defending track late model champion Albert Francis, Michigan late model star Brian Campbell, veteran Northeastern late model racer Eddie MacDonald and multi-time East Cast International Pro Stock Tour champion Cole Butcher.
