SALEM, Ind. – Champion Racing Ass’n and Baer Field Motorsports Park officials have announced an additional special non-points event for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS.
The event will feature 60 laps and pay $5,000 to the winner on the three-eighths-mile track as part of Baer Field Motorsports Park’s Crown Jewel Weekend on July 5-7.
“We are really excited to be a part of this great weekend of racing at Baer Field Motorsports Park,” said R.J. Scott, managing partner with CRA. “This will be one of the highest paying Street Stock events in the country and should bring in a stout field of competitors from all over the country to try and claim the $5,000 first place payoff and the special Crown Trophy being designed for the event.”
On Friday, the CRA Street Stocks will have practice and qualifying, along with qualifying heat races (six heats of 10 lap each, top three from each transfer to the A Main). On Saturday, the CRA Street Stocks will have Last Chance Races and the 60 lap main event, which will have a minimum of 24 starters and may feature up to 32 starters.
Two other CRA Series will be in action as part of the Crown Jewel Weekend at Baer Field Motorsports Park. The Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models will be in action on Saturday night with heats and a 25-lap feature, while the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be in action with a 100-lap feature on Sunday afternoon.
The main event of the weekend will be the ICAR All-Star Tour 20K Showdown on Sunday, a 200-lap ICAR Modified race that will pay the winner $20,000. The 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event will be ran in between the two 100 lap segments of the ICAR All-Star Tour 20K Showdown.
