SALEM, Ind. – Champion Racing Ass’n powered by JEGS officials have announced that the inclement forecast for this weekend has forced the cancellation of the CRA Cabin Fever Championships at Lucas Oil Raceway.
The amount of rain expected leading up to and through part of the weekend, as well as the near-freezing wind chill temperatures expected on Sunday, led officials to the decision.
There will not be a reschedule date for the event.
“It’s really unfortunate,” noted CRA Series Director Glenn Luckett. “We were getting great feedback from fans and racers going into this season opening event, until the forecast came out. The weather conditions won’t make it possible for this to be a successful event for everyone involved.
“We wanted to give the traveling teams advance notice so they could cancel their rooms at no charge and allow everyone to make alternate plans for the weekend.”
The season opener for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will now be on Saturday, April 13 at Anderson Speedway.
