Luck On Swan’s Side At Rockford


LOVES PARK, Ill. — A week after a violent crash at Madison Int’l Speedway, James Swan caught all the breaks he needed to secure his first Mid-American Stock Car Series late-model triumph since 2001 at Rockford Speedway.

Swan restarted in the preferred outside line during two-consecutive restarts and avoided leader Jimmy Becker when Becker’s steering column broke on lap 33, allowing Swan to take the lead for good.

Lyle Nowak was second at the quarter-mile asphalt oval, followed by Tyler Bauknecht, Kyle Shear and Brian Back.
