The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will race at its hometown superspeedway at 5 p.m. Friday.

Blaney will be among the favorites for Friday’s Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell award after posting a top lap of 186.374 during a two hour and 30 minute practice session.

“The car was real good,” Blaney said. “We unloaded great. Everyone at Cunningham Motorsports did a great job.”

Blaney is in the ARCA Racing Series for the first of three races with Cunningham. Qualifying is at 10 a.m. Friday.

Frank Kimmel, in the No. 44 Ansell-Menards Toyota, was second in the practice session, nearly two seconds behind Blaney. Coming in third was the No. 15 Venturini Motorsports Toyota of Brennan Poole.

Poole came out blazing early in the afternoon practice session, then blew a motor.

“It’s just one of those racing things,” Poole said. “We have a really fast race car. I think we have a car capable of winning the race. It’s in there. We just have to find it.”

His Venturini team was able to get the motor changed in time for Poole to go back on the track and turn a lap time of 183.870. Teammate Justin Boston was fourth and Port Charlotte, Fla. driver Josh Williams in the No. 02 was fifth.

Chad Boat, in the No. 55 Corvette Online Toyota, also blew a motor in practice and his Venturini crew went to work on changing the motor as practice ended.
