Wire To Wire For Ordway In Hy-Miler Finale

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Mike Ordway Jr. wired the ISMA Supermodified Hy-Miler Nationals finale on Saturday night at Sandusky Speedway, leading all 100 laps from the pole in Clyde Booth’s iconic No. 61.

Ordway took the point on the initial start and never looked back from there, driving out to a mammoth lead during green-flag conditions as attrition whittled down the field behind him.

Most notable among the retirees was Friday Fast 40 winner Dave Shullick Jr., who took his car pitside on lap 72 with power steering issues and did not return.

All the while, Ordway continued his domination up front, eventually taking the checkered flag in front of Jeff Abold by 3.583 seconds.

Timmy Jedzrejek crossed third, followed by Smoke Johnson and Rich Reid.

Saturday night marked Ordway’s second Hy-Miler victory, following his initial win in the event in 2017, as well as the fourth Hy-Miler win for Booth’s team in seven years.

The finish:

1. Mike Ordway Jr., 2. Jeff Abold, 3. Timmy Jedzrejek, 4. Smoke Johnson, 5. Rich Reid, 6. Talon Stephens, 7. Keith Shampine, 8. Mike McVetta, 9. Trent Stephens, 10. Dave Shullick Jr., 11.
