Faced with a forecast of a 90 percent chance of rain at Riverhead Raceway on Saturday, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour officials and Riverhead Raceway management jointly decided to shift the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200 to Sunday afternoon.
The race day itinerary has been moved up for the rain date, with the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200 taking the green at 2:45 p.m. (ET).
The complete race program set for Saturday transfers to Sunday with the Blunderbusts, INEX Legend Race Cars, Street Stocks and Eddie Partridge Vintage All-Stars complimenting the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200.Â
“It is the goal of NASCAR, Jimmy Wilson of the WMT and Riverhead Raceway to have the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200 completed earlier in the day. This gives race teams and fans that have traveled to be with us ample time to get home at a reasonable hour,” said track general manager John Ellwood. Â
