TOLEDO, Ohio – The track that has hosted more ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races than any other is about to add two more. ARCA officials announced today that it will once again hold two races at Salem Speedway in 2014.
“The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards has played a significant roll in the storied history of Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery,” said Salem Speedway general manager Richard Deaton. “From the days of Troy Ruttman, Jack Bowsher and Benny Parsons to Tim Steele, Justin Allgaier and Frank Kimmel, the ARCA Racing Series has provided an abundance of memorable racing action on the high banks of Salem.”
The ARCA Racing Series will run the traditional spring and fall races. The spring race will be Sunday afternoon April 27 while the Fall classic will be under the lights on Saturday, Sept. 13. The April 27 race will mark the 95th all-time ARCA race at Salem Speedway.
This past season, Salem Speedway continued to make history when 15-year-old Kyle Benjamin became the youngest ARCA winner at the Indiana track. Tom Hessert won the spring ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race, his second consecutive win at the half-mile speedway.
