Townley Leads Final Day Of ARCA Test

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – John Wes Townley put Venturini Motorsports on top of the speed charts once again during the final day of ARCA Racing Series testing at Daytona Int’l Speedway Sunday.

Townley set the fastest time of the day during the afternoon session at Daytona, clocking in at 181.452 mph despite only completing three laps during the afternoon session. Ricky Ehrgott was second fastest for Coulter Motorsports, timing in at 181.419.

Brandon Hanks, defending ARCA Racing Series champion Chris Buescher and Justin Boston completed the top five in the afternoon session.

Venturini Motorsports also ruled the morning session, with USAC driver Taylor Ferns setting fast time at 181.287 mph. Fellow Venturini drivers Townley and Caleb Armstrong were second and third, followed by eight-time Daytona ARCA winner Bobby Gerhart and Boston.

The ARCA Racing Series begins the 2013 season on Feb. 16 at Daytona with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200.
