Swede Lands Daytona ARCA Ride

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — 2006 World Series by Renault champion Alx Danielsson will drive the No. 40 Roger Carter Racing Dodge in Saturday’s Lucas Oil 200 Presented by MAVTV American Real ARCA Racing Series event at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

Danielsson’s car will carry sponsorship provided by various firms from his home country of Sweden.

Danielsson, a 32-year-old native of Östersund, Sweden, will be making his first start on an oval track at Daytona.  In 2013, he recorded his first stock car start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

In December 2013, Danielsson tested the Roger Carter Racing Dodge Charger at Daytona, recording a 179.494 mph fast. “I loved driving at Daytona,” said Danielsson “I was literally laughing inside the car. It was an absolutely amazing feeling.”

NASCAR veteran Tim Fedewa will serve as spotter for Danielsson as well as educating him on the intricacies of racing at the famed 2.5-mile track. Roger Carter Racing co-owner Dana Carter stated: “I am really looking forward to working with Alx at Daytona. He brings an extraordinary amount of energy to the team and his intensity level is second to none.”
