SALEM, Ind. – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have announced the first group of entries that have arrived for the upcoming SpeedFest 2014, which will be held Jan. 25-26, 2014 at Watermelon Capital Speedway located in Cordele, Ga.
As is tradition, this event is held the weekend prior to the Super Bowl every year.
NASCAR Sprint Cup competitor David Ragan tops the list of entries to date for the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS event at SpeedFest 2014. Ragan is still looking to get his first CRA win and would love nothing more than to get that win at Watermelon Capital Speedway, which is located just down the road from his hometown Unadilla, Ga.
Other entries to date for the 200 lap event with SpeedFest 2014 include John Hunter Nemechek, son of NASCAR veteran competitor Joe Nemechek. Also entered are Oklahoma’s Donnie Wilson, Alabama’s Hunter Robbins and Georgia natives Anderson Bowen, Dalton Grindle and Brady Boswell.
Nemechek, Robbins and Grindle will be doing double duty as are all three also entered in the 125 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event at SpeedFest 2014. Also entered are 13 year old Harrison Burton, son of NASCAR Sprint Cup veteran Jeff Burton from Huntersville, N.C., along with Kentucky’s Hunter Baize, Indiana’s J.J. Haley and Michigan’s Amber Slagle.
Additional entries for both events are expected to continue to arrive, especially after the Holidays.
SpeedFest 2014 will once consist of a 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series special non-points event and a 125 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance special non-points event. The 200 ARCA/CRA Super Series event will have a break at lap 100 and will count yellow flag laps up to lap 175. The 125 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event will be a four tire only event and will count yellow flag laps up to lap 100.
