MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Mason Mitchell Motorsports will field their own entry for the 2014 ARCA Racing Series season, starting at the season opening race at Daytona Int’l Speedway in February with Mason Mitchell behind the wheel.
“It’s always been a goal of mine to race for myself in a MMM owned entry at a top level of motorsports. It’s back to the roots where I had success coming up through the ranks,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell is coming off of his first full season (minus missing two races in his transition to Empire Racing mid-season) in the ARCA Racing Series finishing sixth in drivers points. The 19-year-old from West Des Moines, Iowa, ended the season with nine straight top-10 finishes and back-to-back runner-up finishes at Kentucky and Kansas Speedway. During the final nine races of the 2013 season, Mitchell earned the second most driver points (1650) behind 2013 champion Frank Kimmel.
“Our goal is to get my first win out of the way and win multiple races along with winning the championship in 2014,” Mitchell said.
MMM plans to field a second entry throughout the 2014 season with a combination of two to three different drivers that will be announced at a later date.
Happy Cheeks Toilet Seat Cleaner will continue to sponsor Mitchell into the 2014 season. Happy Cheeks stepped up sponsoring Mitchell in the 2013 season starting at Talladega Superspeedway in May. MMM will also announce multiple sponsorship partners at a later date.
Mitchell is also looking to run NASCAR Camping World Truck races and NASCAR Nationwide races in 2014.
