CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Bobby Dale Earnhardt, grandson of legendary NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt, has announced plans to race full-time in the ARCA Truck Series in 2013.
Earnhardt will compete in Chevrolets with Wilson Motorsports of Tyler County, W.Va. He moved from his home in North Carolina to West Virginia in March 2012 and teamed up with Wilson Motorsports, practicing and driving late models. He has a three-year plan to make it to NASCAR.
“I would like to thank my West Virginia sponsors, All-N-One Pawn, Drive in Barbershop, and Wilson Motorsports and thanks to my pawpaw Dale, who taught me that it takes dedication, determination and hard work to get to the winner’s circle on the track and in life,” Earnhardt said.
Earnhardt, 25, is the son of ARCA and NASCAR veteran Kerry Earnhardt. Kerry made 11 career ARCA Racing Series starts in 2000 and 2001 with impressive results, including four wins at Pocono, Michigan, Charlotte and Atlanta. He earned seven top-five finishes and eight top-10s overall and led 286 laps in six races.
