Roulo Brothers Sign Two For ARCA Program

CONCORD, N.C. – Roulo Brothers Racing has signed two 16-year-old drivers, Kyle Benjamin and Kyle Weatherman, to driver development contracts.

Both drivers will compete in select ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races in 2014.

Benjamin, of Easley, S.C., became the youngest winner in ARCA history last year with his victory at Madison (Wis.) Int’l Speedway and the youngest pole winner in series history at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway. A winner of 15 races across multiple stock car and late model divisions over the last two years, he also scored a victory in his most recent ARCA start, at Salem (Ind.) Speedway last September.

“This is an unbelievable opportunity for me,” said Benjamin. “It’s my dream to compete in and win races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and this is the first step. I’m thankful that the Roulo Brothers believe in me enough to take me in and help me realize my dream. It’s going to be a lot of fun driving for Gary (Roulo) and the Roulo Bros. Racing team, who have an amazing track record with their young drivers.”

Weatherman, a native of Wentzville, Mo., scored two runner-up finishes last year in ARCA, at Iowa Speedway and Salem, and is a four-time national champion across various divisions under the U.S. Legend Car sanction.

Roulo Bros. Racing will continue its affiliation as a piece of the Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) development program, which recently produced Chris Buescher at the ARCA champion and 2012, and who will compete for NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie of the year this season for RFR.

“Ever since I was 10 years old, I had a goal, and that goal was to race at the highest level of NASCAR,” Weatherman said.

“I am excited to be with Roulo Bros. Racing this year. Having always looked up to Chris Buescher, it’s so cool to have the opportunity to follow in his foot-steps and drive for the same team he did.”

“Kyle and Kyle are both talented young drivers,” said Eric Peterson, Director of Driver Development for Roush Fenway. “They each demonstrated a lot of potential with successful seasons in 2013 and we are pleased to have them partnering with Roulo Bros. Racing in 2014. We look forward to watching them further develop their driving skills this season in the ARCA series.”

Roulo Bros. Racing helped nurture the talents of current Roush Fenway NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Chris Buescher, who won the ARCA Series title in 2012. With the additions of Benjamin and Weatherman, team owner Gary Roulo eyes more success stories.

“We believe that Kyle Benjamin is one of the top young drivers in this sport, and that he has a tremendous future ahead of him,” said Roulo. “We are happy to be a part of that. Our goal is to continue his winning ways and add to his on-going development in preparing him for the next level.

“We’ve known Kyle Weatherman for quite some time. We’re excited to add him to our driver lineup. He has already had some impressive runs in the ARCA Series and we look forward to winning races with him in the future.”
