TOLEDO, Ohio – The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will race at Kentucky Speedway in 2014 and ZLOOP will return as title sponsor of the event for the second consecutive year.
The ZLOOP 150 will be held Friday, Sept. 19.
ARCA has raced at the 1.5-mile speedway in Sparta, Ky., 20 times since 2000, the year the track opened. ARCA returned to the speedway during the 2013 season for the first time since 2009. Corey LaJoie, son of two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Randy LaJoie, went to victory lane for the third time during the season, beating SCOTT Rookie Challenge competitor Mason Mitchell and Spencer Gallagher to the finish line of the 100-lap race.
ARCA’s first race at Kentucky was won by Tim Steele in July, 2000. Frank Kimmel won three straight ARCA events from 2001 to 2002 at Kentucky, plus picked up a fourth win in 2005. Other ARCA winners have included Ryan Newman, Chad Blount, Steve Wallace, Michael McDowell, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Scott Speed, James Buescher and Parker Kligerman.
The ZLOOP 150 is the eighth announced race of the 2014 ARCA Racing Series schedule. The season will open at Daytona Int’l Speedway Feb. 15 and close at Kansas Speedway on Oct. 3.
