WATERBURY, Vt. — Twenty-eight teams will make up the American-Canadian Tour late-model field during the organization’s first trip to Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway Feb. 13-14.

Among those making the trip to Florida for the two-night event are ACT champion Brian Hoar, Serie ACT Castrol Edge champion Karl Allard, Milk Bowl and ACT Invitational winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. and many more.

The series will present two 100-lap features, known as the Goodyear Speedweeks Cup, Feb. 13-14. Series officials have posted a purse that totals more than $36,000 for the two nights of racing.

Qualifying for the race Feb. 13 will use northern style heat racing to establish the lineup. The 100-lap feature Feb. 14 will see an inversion from the results of the race Feb. 13.

“Since this will be our first trip to New Smyrna, we wanted to make sure we offer the many fans from around the country the most exciting and competitive racing we can,” said Tom Curley, president of the American-Canadian Tour. “I think what makes our racing so popular in the Northeast is that we have a kind of a no holds barred but respectful approach to racing. At NSS, teams will have to race their way in through heats, and then Monday may the best man win racing from the rear.”
