World Of Outlaws To Continue Racing

CONCORD, N.C. — As of today, the World of Outlaws has no plans to cancel any races because of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

The sanctioning body issued a statement on Thursday morning.

“World of Outlaws officials, together with our partner tracks and promoters, are paying close attention to the ongoing COVID-19 health concerns. We are monitoring the latest information and guidance regarding coronavirus at city, county and state levels, as well as CDC recommendations,” the statement read.

“All World of Outlaws events are going forward as scheduled. Should the need arise to alter plans based on local conditions, we will act in the best interest of our fans and competitors. In the event of any change, we will communicate via our social channels, like Twitter and Facebook, as well as through email to ticket holders and our WorldofOutlaws.com website.”

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series is scheduled to race in Texas this weekend at Cotton Bowl Speedway and Lonestar Speedway. A pair of events are scheduled March 21-22 in Arizona before the series heads toward California, which is currently under restrictions regarding public gatherings that led to the Thunderbowl cancellation.

World of Outlaws officials said they would continue to monitor the situation regarding events at tracks in California.

The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series is off until March 27 when it is scheduled to visit Volunteer Speedway in Tennessee.
