BARBERVILLE, Fla. — The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season resumes March 3-4 at Volusia Speedway Park.
Two drivers (Donny Schatz and David Gravel) ranked in the top 10 in all-time series victories will be in the field.
With that in mind, let’s recap the top winners in the history of the series that ran its first race at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in 1978.
While Steve Kinser did not win the first WoO event, he did win the first of his 20 series titles during that inaugural 1978 campaign.
Kinser by far the winningest driver in the history of the nomadic sprint car racing group with 690 features wins during a career that lasted more than six decades.
Sammy Swindell ranks second on the all-time winners list with 394 triumphs, while Schatz has earned 311 victories ranking the 10-time champion third on the all-time winners list.
Mark Kinser (203) and Doug Wolfgang (140) round out the top five.
Gravel is 10th on the victory list with 89 triumphs, including one at Volusia’s half-mile track earlier this season.
Also entered at Volusia, Logan Schuchart is 19th on the winners list with 41 triumphs, while Logan Macedo and Sheldon Haudenschild are tied for 21st with 35 wins each.
