Pittman & Roth Motorsports Parting Ways Early

FRESNO, Calif. – After announcing he would seek other opportunities for 2021 last week, Daryn Pittman has elected to vacate the seat of the Roth Motorsports entry following this weekend’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series events at Lawton Speedway and Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

“While we had hoped to finish the year off strong with Daryn Pittman, we respect his decision and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” team owner Dennis Roth said. “We appreciate everything he did for our race team over the last two seasons, and now we will turn our attention to our team’s upcoming events to end the 2020 season and getting prepared for 2021.”

In two seasons with Roth Motorsports, Pittman claimed the 2019 DIRTCar Nationals Big Gator championship, won the 2019 Front Row Challenge, and laid claim to the 2019 Gold Cup Race of Champions as part of four World of Outlaws feature victories.

In a shortened 2020 campaign due to the shutdown earlier this year, Pittman and company sit seventh in series points, with 10 top-five finishes and 25 top 10s.

“I really want to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for the opportunity to drive their car for the last two years. I’d also like to thank Todd Ventura, Brent Ventura, Stephen Hamm-Reilly, and Tony Barkman for their efforts and hard work this season,” said Pittman. “Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to reach the success we had hoped for, and I feel that it is best for both of us to move in a different direction at this time.

“I am excited to finish out the season as strong as I can on a personal level, and I hope this allows Roth Motorsports to get a strong start on the 2021 season. I truly wish them nothing but the best moving forward.”

While Pittman vacates the seat following this weekend’s action, Roth Motorsports still intends on fielding a car in the upcoming Governor’s Reign at Eldora Speedway, as well as the remaining events sanctioned by the World of Outlaws.

Details on who will fill the seat of the No. 83 are being finalized and will be released in the near future.
